Empty Chairs

Tension between presence and absence, what could be, what shouldn’t be, what will never be again.

Chairs, as everyday objects, often convey an invitation, a hope for connection, and gathering, yet when left unoccupied, they could also become symbols of isolation, absence, and longing. In pairs, they suggest relationships while simultaneously evoking a sense of solitude, as if the chairs are waiting for someone hoped for or who is no longer coming. And life would go on if you only filled one.
